Calaf Constructora has carried out the adaptation of the Foix reservoir spillway, adapting it to the new operating needs of the ACA (Catalan Water Agency) The outlet of the Foix reservoir consisted of a DN800 valve that poured into a channel by gravity. This channel had become too small and did not meet the needs of the dam’s spillway. Calaf Constructora carried out the works consisting of transforming the open channel into a forced pipe. This pipe is made of steel with a diameter of 800mm and has a length of 50m. Two Howell Bungel valves and regulation elements have also been placed at the end of the pipe, which allow a better exploitation of the intake by the ACA. The duration of the work has been half a year.
