Calaf Constructora was present at the inauguration last Friday 22nd July of the new crematorium in Igualada, located in the Cementerio Nuevo park. This work, carried out by Calaf Constructora and designed by the architect Carme Pinós, is part of a world-renowned architectural complex designed jointly by the two architects, Carmen and Enric Miralles, in the 1980s. Its particularity lies in the fact that it moves away from the concept of traditional cemeteries, wanting to resemble a park for walking. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Generalitat, Santi Vila, the President of the Barcelona Provincial Council, Mercè Conesa and the Mayor of Igualada, Marc Castells. On behalf of Calaf Constructora, Xavier Pujol, president, and Joan Pujol, manager, were present. The new facilities of the crematorium include several dependencies to respect the privacy of the relatives. Calaf Constructora has carried out both the work on the crematorium, owned by Anoia Funeral Home, as well as the landscaping of the new cemetery chapel and the external development of the crematorium corresponding to Igualada Town Hall.
