The restoration of Casa Vicens, Antoni Gaudí’s first masterpiece, has made it possible to recover the original essence of this emblematic building and adapt it to its new use as a house museum.
The intervention has combined technical rigor and heritage sensitivity, including the replacement of missing elements, the restoration of facades and ornamentation, and the incorporation of a new staircase and elevator connecting the 1885 and 1925 volumes. All this was done while respecting the integrity of the work and integrating contemporary solutions to ensure its current functionality.
The result is a space that combines memory, technique, and contemporaneity, offering a new interpretation of Gaudí from the present and restoring Casa Vicens’ unique and vibrant character.
