The rehabilitation of the Gothic palaces Nadal and Marquès de Llió, on Montcada Street, has given new life to two gems of Barcelona’s heritage, transforming them into the headquarters of the Museum of World Cultures. The project combined a meticulous architectural intervention with the technical demands inherent to a top-tier museum space.

The works included structural consolidation, the restoration of historical elements such as polychrome ceilings, carpentry, and stone pavements, and the integration of new facilities to ensure environmental control and the preservation of the exhibited pieces. All this was achieved while maintaining the balance between preserving the architectural legacy and incorporating modern construction solutions.

The result is a cultural space that links history and contemporaneity, reflecting a commitment to heritage rehabilitation, technical quality, and attention to detail.
